Benefits & Efficacy
Accelerating Wound Healing
Advanced Wound Management
Supplied in 100mL, 250mL or 500mL bottles. Sterile
Sil.Vet Solution is intended for use in animals and pets, by or under the supervision of a veterinarian for disinfection, management, moisturizing and healing acceleration of wounds, different types of ulcers, post-surgical wounds, first and second-degree burns, cuts abrasions and minor skin irritations.

Sil.Vet Solution is ideal for the in-house treatment of wounds and serves as an integral part of a first aid kit for the treatment of minor cuts, skin irritations, lacerations, abrasions, 1st and 2nd-degree burns.
The clear, colorless solution, is protected from microbial contamination by a low concentration of Ionic Silver.
Mechanism of Action
Ingredient | Action | Description |
|---|---|---|
Ag NO3 | Preservative and Anti-microbial agent | Ionic silver kills on contact and inhibits the growth of bacteria, yeast and fungi |
Menthol | Penetration enhancer, Growth promoter, Pain reliever and Odor fighter | Enhances ionic silver antimicrobial activities and fights wound odor. Promotes granulation tissue growth by vasodilatation. |
Tween 20 | Surfactant and Detergent | Enhances solution penetration into the biofilm. Acts as wound cleansing detergent. |
Glycerol | A hypertonic aqueous solution prevents macerations and soothing agent | Enhances solution penetration into the biofilm. Acts as wound-cleansing detergent. |
Tris Buffer | Buffered neutral pH | Biocompatible to physiological pH (neutral) |
Ingredients include water for injection (WFI), glycerol (glycerin), sorbitan monolaurate (Tween-20), TRIS, menthol and silver nitrate 0.01% (w/v).

Biofilm Destruction
One of the causes of a chronic infection is associated with the formation of biofilms by bacteria. Biofilms pose a widespread threat to humans, animals, and the environment. The continued rise in antimicrobial resistance requires effective treatment of biofilm associated infections.
Growing resistance to antibiotics
Bacteria in biofilms are much more resistant to antibiotics, host immune systems and bacteriophages than planktonic cells. Bacterial resistance to antibiotics is on the rise, but biofilm multi-drug resistance is outpacing this growth.

Expert Opinion
Sil.Vet Solution is capable of exerting antimicrobial activity against a broad spectrum of pathogenic microorganisms and destroys biofilm, while allowing pain relief, cooling and wound healing, without being associated with adverse side effects such as coloration and irritation.
Sil.Vet Solution covers all stages of the wound treatment and healing process.

Sil.Vet Solution is similarly effective for non-infected wounds to highly infected wounds, reduces pain and eliminates odor. Facilitates the treatment process, shortens the healing period and does not harm healthy tissue; hence no rinse is required and can be applied on open bones and cartilage.
